TransAmerican Planning - Loaded Up

I will of course have to unpack all the panniers and fit everything into an airline size bag.  The bike will also have to be partly dismantled to fit a bike box (I will also have to swap over the mirror from right to left).

However, I just wanted to check how it all fits together and how much it all weighs.  I know it's not a Surly, but I am used to my current setup and bike geometry.  It means that I hopefully will get through the ride without major aches and pains. I am also very happy with my butterfly handlebars as it allows me to regularly change riding position minimising the stress on my hands, wrists and arms.

Putting everything on the scales, the bike comes in at 19.3kg.  That includes a 700gr safety chain!  Due to the aluminium MBT frame, it does not compare too badly with a normal touring bike.

The rest of my stuff weighs 22.5kg.  However, that's excluding fuel, water and food which will add probably another 8kg.

So, my total traveling weight will be about 50kg.
